I am mom to 4 children ages 17, 14 and 10 yr old twins. I am also a mom to my fiance's 2 children 12 and 10. They love me as if I was their own mom since I have assumed that role with the absence of their own mom. On August 29, 2016 I was unexpectedly diagnosed with IDC - Invasive Ductual Carcenoma. I have stage 3 grade 3 breast cancer I am also HER2 positive which means my cancer is quite aggresive and the best approach was 5 months of chemotherapy which started almost immediately. I haven't let cancer run my life. I try to fight strong and face every challenge head on. I ignore every sign my body gives me and continue to try and take care of the household and spend quality time with the kids. Some days are a struggle for me but I somehow perserver through it and do the best I can. I was recently told I am an inspiration with my positive attitude and fighting even when I want to give up. Surgery is scheduled this month tentatively for a mastectomy. Due to my age and almost no family history of breast cancer I have undergone genetic testing to see if I am the carrier of a mutated gene which could effect my children. If so, I will undergo a bilateral mastectomy and undergo surgery to fulfill a full hysterectomy to prevent the possibility of ovarian cancer. Then, more chemo and or radiation. I was working hard at building my clientele for my own residential cleaning business. Unfortunately, I have had to put that dream aside. Thank you for reading my story and your support is greatly appreciated.
