My name is Tiffany I'm 32, a wife, a mother, and I need back surgery. Before I need surgery I have been fighting for disability for 3 years. My symptoms are sharp pain in lower back with any movement, it feels like a knife is stuck I my lower back, numbness in my left butt cheek, muscle spasms in my left but cheek down the back of my left leg into my toes, radiating shooting pain down my hip and thigh down my left knee, and numbness and tingling down my left leg to my toes. I have 2 herniated discs in my lower back. My report shows an annular tear on my L4/L5 vertebrae, I have a 7mm herniated disc at L5/S1 vertebrae, also have canal stenosis at L5/S1 vertebrae, and a 6mm synovial cyst at L5/S1, and arthropathy from L3/S1. I was set to get my MRI and prep for surgery when I lost my insurance. Affordable care act raised it’s premium and I could no longer afford it. The money will be used for my back surgery. I was approved for minimally invasive surgery for a discectomy and decompression but he wants me to get X Rays and MRI's of my hip and back to make sure I don’t need a fusion, and they want payment in advance. I have been in a wheelchair for 2 years now because I keep falling due to my back. I really want this back surgery because I want my life back, I want to walk, and I want to not be afraid to leave my house because I’m worried how much pain I’m in. I am so grateful to everyone for taking the time to read my story.
I initially found out I was having back problems due to my backward tilting pelvis and was put on bed rest during my pregnancy. After my pregnancy a doctor suggested that shaving and shortening some of my toes would help my back. The doctor took to much bone out my feet and I had to have multiple corrective surgery.
